Thomas A. Edison Academy for Career and Technical Education

The Thomas A. Edison Academy for Career & Technical Academy is a four-year public high school in Elizabeth in Union County, New Jersey, United States, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades as part of the Elizabeth Public Schools. The Thomas A. Edison Academy For Career & Technical Education is the center for vocational and technical education in the city. Williams' Field, which holds the school's football field and outdoor track field, is adjacent to Thomas A. Edison Academy.
Thomas A. Edison High School was built in 1935 and named for the inventor who worked on many of his major contributions to the scientific and commercial world working in New Jersey.
As of the 2012-13 school year, the school had an enrollment of 692 students and 63.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.98:1. There were 550 students (79.5% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 78 (11.3% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.〔(School Data for Thomas A. The school was the 323rd-ranked public high school in New Jersey out of 339 schools statewide in ''New Jersey Monthly'' magazine's September 2014 cover story on the state's "Top Public High Schools", using a new ranking methodology.〔Staff.
